About Wedding Planning Hub
We're Planning Our Own Wedding — And Sharing What We Learn
Wedding Planning Hub was created by Matt and Angela while planning their own UK wedding. We're sharing the practical tools, checklists, spreadsheets and lessons that we're finding useful along the way.
Hi, We're Matt and Angela
We're a couple planning our wedding in the UK, and like most couples, we've discovered that wedding planning involves a lot more than choosing flowers and deciding what goes on the menu.
There are budgets to work out, suppliers to compare, guests to organise, seating plans to wrestle with, timings to coordinate and a seemingly endless list of small decisions that all need to come together on one day.
As we started working through our own plans, we found ourselves creating spreadsheets, checklists, timelines and other tools to keep everything under control.
We realised that these were exactly the sort of practical resources that other couples might find useful too. That's where Wedding Planning Hub came from.
Why We Created Wedding Planning Hub
There's no shortage of wedding inspiration online. What we found harder to find was straightforward, practical information about actually organising a wedding.
We wanted somewhere that helped answer the questions that come up when you're sitting at the kitchen table trying to work everything out:
- How much should we realistically budget for each part of the wedding?
- What needs to be done, and when?
- How do we keep track of suppliers, payments and guests?
- How do we create a seating plan without losing the will to live?
- How much time do we actually need between different parts of the wedding day?
- What are the things nobody tells you until you're already planning them?
Wedding Planning Hub is our attempt to make those jobs a little easier.
Based on a Real Wedding, Not Just Generic Advice
The site is being developed alongside our own wedding planning, so many of the resources come from things we have actually had to work through ourselves.
That includes building our wedding budget, organising our guest information, planning the ceremony and reception, working on our seating arrangements, creating the wedding day timeline and figuring out how all the individual pieces fit together.
When something causes us a headache, we try to find a better way of doing it. When we create something that works, we turn it into a resource that other couples can use.
As our wedding progresses, we're also documenting what we learn — including the decisions that worked, the things we underestimated and the things we'd do differently.
Practical Over Perfect
We're not trying to tell couples what their wedding should look like.
There isn't one right way to get married, and there's no universal wedding budget or checklist that works for everyone.
Instead, we focus on giving couples useful starting points, realistic planning information and tools they can adapt to their own circumstances.
Where we provide costs, recommendations or other information based on research rather than our own experience, we aim to make that distinction clear and provide sources where appropriate.
